# Choose which Octopoda emails you get

> Turn Octopoda's emails on or off: finished scans, critical and high findings, low credits and failed payments, and see who receives each one.

Octopoda emails you when something needs your attention. Each person chooses their own emails on the **Notifications** page under **Settings**, and every email links straight to what needs doing. Octopoda does not send marketing email.

## Emails you can choose

| Email | When it is sent | Who can get it |
| - | - | - |
| **A scan finishes** | A scan you started from the CLI, the MCP server or the web app finishes, with a one-line summary. | The person who started the scan |
| **A critical or high finding appears** | As soon as a critical or high finding is proven, even mid-scan. | Everyone on the team |
| **Credits run low** | The balance drops under 20% of the plan's monthly credits. | Owners and admins |
| **A payment fails** | A renewal payment fails, so scans are not paused without warning. | Owners and admins |

All four are on by default.

## Where emails go

Octopoda sends email to the address on your GitHub account. If your GitHub account has no public or verified email, the Notifications page tells you so: add one on GitHub, then sign out of Octopoda and sign in again.

Pull request scans report on the pull request on GitHub, not by email.
